Imagine it this way: you are planning the most amazing road trip–you have a 30 day plan to tour some of the most beautiful places across the United States; national parks, gorgeous and thriving cities, monuments that speak of our country’s past and powerful… you have spent months planning the perfect trip. It’s day one and you head out, but you don’t gas up the car. Instead, you figure you will just go until it quits. Then, two hours later, you end up stuck on Highway 94 and you fill the tank with a 2 liter of Coke and a carafe of coffee. How far do you think you will get?
This scenario sounds ridiculous, but this is EXACTLY how we treat our bodies. You can’t produce amazing results if you are fueling your body with processed, substandard food, or even worse, not eating enough.
I’m going to share a secret with you! I’ve struggled with my weight for over 4 decades (that’s right, I’m in my fifties!) It wasn’t until I made this mind/body/spirit connection that I got my nutrition in check and could really achieve my true full potential. In order to fuel my dreams, I have to fuel my body and brain first. I LITERALLY had no idea how crappy I felt: drained of energy, tired, short-tempered and in a lot of physical pain.
