I am one of those people that wakes up to “I don’t want to.” Every. Single. Day. It doesn’t matter what my day holds: it could be a day full of chores I’m not excited about, or a weekend away with a friend–I never want to. Now, I’ve gotten pretty good at just pushing past that with most things. However, during this ultra-present 100 days of fighting back, I’ve noticed where that attitude has bled into other areas of my life but I dismiss is and let it control my decisions.
I love Nike’s slogan “Just Do It!” Really, that’s what life comes down to: those that are successful and accomplish their dreams in life have mastered the ability to do the things they don’t WANT to do, but KNOW THEY NEED TO in order to accomplish their goals. Those that give in to their “I don’t feel like it” attitude end up unsuccessful, undisciplined and never reach their full potential. Thus, they never grow themselves and end of feeling dissatisfied and unfulfilled.
Who would have thought that Nike’s slogan is literally the universal secret to success? But IT IS! Don’t feel like getting out of bed when your alarm goes off? JUST DO IT. Don’t want to exercise? JUST DO IT. Don’t have time to track everything you eat? JUST DO IT.
JUST DO IT no matter how you feel. Success is ALWAYS a result of being in action.
So, build that muscle of making yourself do things you don’t feel like doing. Whether it’s exercising, paying bills or scheduling your colonoscopy, the more you JUST DO IT, the better your life gets everywhere.
